Airsealed Desoto Beer Flat Top In this lot, one desoto beer flat top beer can. This can was one of a group of air-sealed flat tops, the rest not nearly as rare as this. I'm not a fan of grade a1+/a- and all that, os here's what i know the pictures (taken outside because of that crazy metallic blue) tell a pretty accurate story about the can's condition. This can is not rolled, it was air-sealed back whne it was made.
(several of the cans in this find had wrong lids, like a nectar w/a budweiser lid, so the michigan tax lid on this can may not actually reflect where this brand was destined to be sold. ) the can has a number of small scratches, mots notably just over the second o of desoto on the front in the first picture, and on the conquistador's helmet on the back face (third photo). Each side has a small dign (ding=too small to be called a dent). The front face has the ding next to the s in desoto, and the rear face has a ding of the same size (probably made by teh same person! ) below the red cape. Even so-even with these minor imperfections-this is an indoor example of a seroiusly tough beer can. It's listed as usbc #53-28. My apologies for having a reserve price, but given what the credit markets and wall street have been doing, i have decided i need to protect my investment on this can. On this auction, i will shpi only to the united states. On this auction, i will accept only a bank check or money order. No paypal. Insurance is required i will tack that on to the invoice as a percentage of the final selling price. Delivery confirmation will be added to the cost of shipping. Happy bidding! Mark rigney. Bcca #20741. P. S.I will be at the collinsville/belleville show in illinois/metro st. Louis, novebmer 8! I'll have a/b commemorative cans, continental all aluminum air-filled flats from the fifties, plus other flats and cones, too. If you want to see a photo of the other cnas found w/the desoto, check out my website, www. Markrigney. Net. |
